Useful Psalms for these days

Psalm   9

Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)

God’s Power and Justice

To the choirmaster: according to Muthlabben. A Psalm of David.

9 I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
      I will tell of all thy wonderful deeds.
  I will be glad and exult in thee,
      I will sing praise to thy name, O Most High.

When my enemies turned back,
      they stumbled and perished before thee.
  For thou hast maintained my just cause;
      thou hast sat on the throne giving righteous   judgment.

Thou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked;
      thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.
  The enemy have vanished in everlasting ruins;
      their cities thou hast rooted out;
      the very memory of them has perished.

But the Lord   sits enthroned for ever,
      he has established his throne for judgment;
  and he judges the world with righteousness,
      he judges the peoples with equity.

The Lord is a   stronghold for the oppressed,
      a stronghold in times of trouble.
  10 And those who know thy name put their trust in thee,
      for thou, O Lord,   hast not forsaken those who seek thee.

11 Sing praises to the Lord,   who dwells in Zion!
      Tell among the peoples his deeds!
  12 For he who avenges blood is mindful of them;
      he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

13 Be gracious to me, O Lord!
      Behold what I suffer from those who hate me,
      O thou who liftest me up from the gates of death,

14 that I may recount all thy praises,
      that in the gates of the daughter of Zion
      I may rejoice in thy deliverance.

15 The nations have sunk in the pit which they made;
      in the net which they hid has their own foot been   caught.
  16 The Lord has   made himself known, he has executed judgment;
      the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.Higgaion.   Selah

17 The wicked shall depart to Sheol,
      all the nations that forget God.

18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten,
      and the hope of the poor shall not perish for ever.

19 Arise, O Lord!   Let not man prevail;
      let the nations be judged before thee!
  20 Put them in fear, O Lord!
      Let the nations know that they are but men!Selah

Psalm 10

Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)

Prayer for Deliverance from Enemies

10 Why dost thou stand afar   off, O Lord?
      Why   dost thou hide thyself in times of trouble?
  In arrogance the   wicked hotly pursue the poor;
      let   them be caught in the schemes which they have devised.

For the wicked boasts of   the desires of his heart,
      and   the man greedy for gain curses and renounces the Lord.
  In the pride of   his countenance the wicked does not seek him;
      all   his thoughts are, “There is no God.”

His ways prosper at all   times;
      thy   judgments are on high, out of his sight;
      as   for all his foes, he puffs at them.
  He thinks in his   heart, “I shall not be moved;
      throughout   all generations I shall not meet adversity.”

His mouth is filled with   cursing and deceit and oppression;
      under   his tongue are mischief and iniquity.
  He sits in ambush   in the villages;
      in   hiding places he murders the innocent.

His   eyes stealthily watch for the hapless,
      he   lurks in secret like a lion in his covert;
  he lurks that he may seize the poor,
      he   seizes the poor when he draws him into his net.

10 The hapless is crushed,   sinks down,
      and   falls by his might.
  11 He thinks in his   heart, “God has forgotten,
      he   has hidden his face, he will never see it.”

12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thy hand;
      forget   not the afflicted.
  13 Why does the   wicked renounce God,
      and   say in his heart, “Thou wilt not call to account”?

14 Thou   dost see; yea, thou dost note trouble and vexation,
      that   thou mayst take it into thy hands;
  the hapless commits himself to thee;
      thou   hast been the helper of the fatherless.

15 Break thou the arm of   the wicked and evildoer;
      seek   out his wickedness till thou find none.
  16 The Lord is king for ever and ever;
      the   nations shall perish from his land.

17 O Lord, thou wilt hear the desire of the meek;
      thou   wilt strengthen their heart, thou wilt incline thy ear
  18 to do justice to   the fatherless and the oppressed,
      so   that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.

A prophet persecuted?

A prophet persecuted?

The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was not the sin of Sodom!
Inhospitality, not being kind to strangers, that’s our conclusion!

The fruits of truth they held not in their bosom
Therefore was sent to them a strong spirit of delusion.

They listened not to the Westboro founder
Coming from heaven to them is the fire and brimstone
Their destruction is written as set in stone,
When smoke billows from the Abyss at the appointed hour

LORD, mercy and forgiveness for founder Phelps, justice and redemption for your Church!

V. Let us pray for our Sovereign Pontiff Francis

R. The LORD preserve him and give him life, and make him blessed upon earth, and deliver him not to the will of his enemies.

cf. Handbook of Prayers, Rev. James Socias, Publisher.

This was my prayer posted on this blog on March 15, 2013.

Hello, is anyone out there?

Can anyone answer me?

Will the media ask the Pope?

Among the Prelates: any St, Paul?

I would be grateful to know: how will the LORD answer this prayer should the Pope set himself up as the LORD’s enemy?

Who can deliver anyone from the hand of the LORD?

Those with wisdom, please answer!

Pope Francis named Time Person of the Year 2013

How will this all end? For or against G_d?

I dread, I dread, for the Pope.

I pray, I pray, I pray, for the Pope.

What profiteth a man surely?

The choice, the same for all:

A paltry spell like a shooting star. (How many years left in life? (cf. The martyrdom of Eleazar 2 M 6: 18-31))

or

Being assured shining like the sun in our Father’s Kingdom by doing the very ‘same’ things!

How I nearly go mad!

vv 21-26

I am shouting !

‘You have taken away my/our priest of my/our G_d that my/our Brother, the Firstborn, bought with his own blood and appointed priest. You go on your way, what is left for me/us? Will you take away the perpetual sacrifice as well? How can you ask me, “what is this about?”‘

Currently they are stronger. I pray to my/our true G_d, almighty, whose priest they have taken (to give an appearance of legitimacy to their cause/’church’, and lead men astray to worship their god).

Our G_d will answer shortly.

He will answer for us and they will answer for it.

The great tribulation of Jerusalem

‘So when you see the disastrous abomination, of which prophet Daniel spoke, set up in the Holy Place (let the reader understand), then those in Judaea must escape to the mountains; if a man is in the fields, he must not turn back to fetch his cloak. Alas for those which child, or with babies at the breast, when those days come! Pray that you will not have to escape in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great distress such as, until now, since the world began, there has been, or ever will be again. And if that time had not been shortened, no one would have survived; but shortened that time shall be, for the sake of those who are chosen[1].

#PopeFrancis peace dove attacked.

“A chilling incident occurred in the Vatican this morning just after Pope Francis called for an end to the violence in Ukraine, […]

“The Associated Press reports that, ‘It was not clear what happened to the doves as they flew off.’ Hopefully, they recovered and intend to continue to their avian fight for good. But, if something terrible happens somewhere in the world today, no one can say that there weren’t any signs.”

Even via Hollywood?

‘As it was in Noah’s day, so will it be when the Son of Man comes. For in those days before the Flood people were eating, drinking, taking wives, taking husbands, right up to the day Noah went into the ark, and they suspected nothing till the Flood came and swept all away. It will be like this when the Son of Man comes. Then of two men in the fields one is taken, one left, of two women at the millstone grinding, one is taken, one left.
‘So stay awake […] (Mt 24 ;34-42)
